Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled polymer membrane having excellent formability and mechanical strengths, and useful as a raw material of organic semiconductor, by polymerizing acetylene using a catalyst system composed mainly of a transition metal compound at a specific concentration without agitating the polymerization system.
CONSTITUTION: In the polymerization of acetylene using a catalyst system composed mainly of a transition metal compound (e.g. titanium tetrabutoxide) and if necessary an organic metal compound (e.g. triethyl aluminum), the polymerization is carried out using the transition metal compound at a concentration of 0.001W 0.1mol per 1 liter of the polymerization solvent (e.g. toluene) without agitating the polymerization system at -100W+300°C. When the polymerization temperature is ≤0°C, the produced polymer is flexible and rich in cis-structure, and when it is ≥30°C, the polymer is rich in trans-structure.
