Abstract
PURPOSE: The solution polymerization is conducted in the presence of a catalyst that is composed of a specific solvent-soluble organomagnesium compound, a titanium compound and an organoaluminum compound and can keep high activity even at high temperatures to produce the titled polymer with no deashing process and reduced corrosion of process equipment.
CONSTITUTION: The one-stage or multistage polymerization of ethylene or a mixture thereof with other olefins is conducted by the use of a catalyst composed of (A) the solid component resulting from the reaction between (a) an organomagnesium compound soluble in a hydrocarbon solvent of formula I [M is Al, Zn, B, Be, Li; β is number of 1 or more; α, p, q, r, s are 0 or more number where p+q+r+ s=mα+2β, 0≤(r+s)/(α+β)≤1.0; m is valency of M; R1, R2 are 1W20C hydrocarbyl; X1, X2 are H, alkoxy] and (b) a titanium compound of formula II (R10 is 1W20C hydrocarbyl; X is halogen; 0≤n≤3) at 1.1W4.0 (a)/(b) molar ratio, and of (B) an organoaluminum compound at 150W300°C.
