Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain expansion injection moldings each having a smooth skin of uniform thickness by empolying a thermoplastic expandable resin which is inhibited from expanding under a given pressure and a thermoplastic expandable resin which cannot be inhitibed from expanding and molding them by the short shot method. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of expandable synthetic resins are injected from the same injection port into a mold cavity, with the first expandable synthetic resin, which is inhibited from expanding under a given pressure, on the outer layer and the second expandable synthetic resin, which is not substantially inhibited from expanding under said pressure, in the center. With the mold cavity filled with a gas having said given pressure, the pressure gas is removed by the expansion of the second resin, and the mold cavity is filled with the resins. The outer layer is kept under unexpanded condition, and the inner part where is not cooled of the first resin expands after the removal of the pressure gas, forming a skin having a uniform thickness.
