Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform accurate optical fiber axis matching through a simple means and device by making elastic one-three out of a couple of support tables and a coupling mechanism coupling both the support tables. The accurate axis matching state of both axis matching terminals parts can be monitored or confirmed via a microscope. As both axis matching terminal parts 7A and 7B are in the accurate axis matching state, the state is held and a connection is made by discharge fusion bonding, etc. Thus, the axis matching between optical fibers can be performed with accuracy by using the simple means and device.
