Abstract

A liquid slip- preventing baffle plate 4 is arranged axially to the rotor 2 to enhance a centrifugal effect on the grains P, so that the upper layer of the accumulated grains P does not have a smooth surface but has a steep sloped surface. As the advancement of the separating operation, the accumulation of the grains P reaches a radial baffle plate 5, and clogs oblong openings 6 formed on the periphery of the baffle plate 5. As a result, a liquid can not pass through or get over the baffle plate 5, and falls downwards in the rotor 2, thus terminating the separating operation. Consequently, it is possible to maintain a grain size limit with the baffle plate 5.
