Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to remove sludge independently of the particle size of the sludge, by dividing a centrifugal separating chamber from a separating chamber by a partitioning plate having through-holes, and by connecting a cylinder having an upper opening to a discharging pipe.
CONSTITUTION: While a liq. contg. sludge etc. rising helically in a centrifugal separating chamber 5, the sludge etc. stays in the chamber 5 for a long time because its specific gravity is larger than that of the liq., so that gravity acts on the sludge to make the sludge fall against the rising liq. At the same time, the number of helical rotation of the sludge is increased to meke the centrifugal force energy greater. The sludge is helically floated along the inner surface of the cylindrical partitioning plate 11 and is pushed out by way of through-holes 10 to a separating chamber 9, where the sludge falls rapidly to a precipitating chamber 12 because the helical flow of the sludge is nearly interrupted by the partitioning plate 11, and deposited on the bottom. Hereby the liq. at the upper part of the centrifugal separating chamber 5 becomes clear, and flows away through an opening 13 of the cylinder at the central part to a discharging pipe 13.
