Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the performance of a centrifugal ceperation for refining and separating an oily lubricant or the like, while lowering the height of a entrifugal separator to restrict vibrations, by arranging coaxially a plurality of solid-liquid separating plates each having a sludge-collecting plane whose cross section is a reverse V-shape.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid to be treated is continuously fed from the side above a rotary member 2, while a refined liquid is discharged from the same side above the rotary member 2. In this centrifugal separator, a plurality of solid-liquid separating plates 3a are arranged coaxially. Each solid-liquid separating plate 3a has a sludge- collecting plane whose cross section is formed in a reverse V-shape. Due to the solid-liquid separating plates 3a, the length along the axial direction, i.e. the height of the centrifugal separator, can be lowered. Consequently, the vibrations of the centrifugal separator can be restricted, the rotation number can be increased, and solids and sludges can be easily collected from the liquid to be treated. Besides, the collected solids and sludges are not apt to be scattered. As a result, the performance of the separation is enhanced.
