Abstract
PURPOSE:To control properly a compressor by detecting accelerating time through negative pressure in an engine to stop then the drive of the compressor and otherwise change over the compressor to plural stages according to rotational frequency of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A negative pressure sensor 13 detects the negative pressure in an engine and its output is compared with a set value in a comparator 15. When the negative pressure is considerably low at that time as in the acceleration of a vehicle, the output of the comparator 15 is inverted to become low level one. Thus both electromagnetic clutches 5, 10 are deenergized through AND circuits 18, 19 to stop a compressor 6. Next, when the vehicle returns from accelerating travel to normal one, the negative pressure in the engine is enlarged and the output of the comparator 15 reaches high level so that the rotation of compressor 6 is controlled in response to the output of a rotational frequency sensor 14. Namely, when the rotational frequency of the engine is smaller than a set one (for example 2,000rpm), the clutch 10 is energized to provide high speed rotation and when the rotational frequency of the engine is larger than the set one, the clutch 5 is energized to provide low speed rotation of the engine.
