Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate fluctuation of friction charging quantity on particles of a composition, and fogging in development, and to improve fixability and stability in long term use, by adding a resin and cinnamic acid in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:To prepare the electrophotographic toner composition 99.9- 75pts.wt. resin component, 0.1-25pts.wt. cinnamic acid, and as a colorant, carbon black or the other optional proper pigment or dye, alone or in combination are mixed, and treated by the known pulverizing method or liquid spraying method. Use of this toner permits nonuniformity of image density, development fogging, poor fixing, toner scattering, toner agglomeration, and the other defects to be prevented, and the service life of toner to be remarkably extended because of high stability of the toner.
