Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain the water level of a water seal constantly at a fixed value by operating an air-pressure switching valve in accordance with the difference between a signal air pressure proportional to the change in the water level of the water seal at an edge port part and an internal pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The signal air pressure Pt proportional to the change Δh in the water level of the water seal at the edge port part is generated by a water-level transmitter 12 fixed in the working chamber 4 of the pneumatic caisson. A control relay 16 is supplied, as a working pressure source, with pressure-chamber air which is discharge pressure P1 of an air compressor 7 and is reduced to proper pressure Pa', and supplies the same, reducing it to output pressure Pb which increases and decreases in reverse proportion to the signal pressure Pt. By the output air pressure Pb, the air-pressure switching valve 9 installed intermediately in an air-feeding pipeline 10 is operated. By this method, the water level of the water seal at the edge port part can be adjusted automatically so as for it to be maintained at a fixed value.
