Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out dehydration treatment always in a good state by controlling the speed of a filter cloth by the solid concn. of the liquid to be treated and controlling the amount of the flocculant to be added to the liquid to be treated, in a belt press type dehydrating machine provided with a gravity dehydrating part and a force dehydrating part.
CONSTITUTION: The water 1 to be treated and a flocculant 4 are mixed and the mixture is supplied onto the filter cloth in a gravity dehydrating part 11. The solid concn. thereof is detected with a thickness detector 15, and based on said value, the number of revolutions of a motor M is controlled by an automatic control mechanism 19 for suppressing the fluctuations of said value, whereby the rotating speed of the filter cloth 9 is regulated. Also, a device 5 for controlling the amount of flocculant supply to a flocculant mixing device 6 adding the flocculant to the liquid to be treated and a turning speed detector 20 for the filter cloth 9 are provided, to change the amount of the flocculant supply to the gravity dehydrating part 11. The change in the detected value by the device 20 by the change in said amount is decided. Basing on the result, the device 5 is automatically operated by the mechanism 22 so that the inadequateness in the rate of flocculant addition does not occur.
