Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the tuner device with less interference and simple constituion, by selecting the television electromagnetic wave signals in UHF and VHF with common RF amplifiers and mixing circuits, and increasing the IF frequency than RF frequency. CONSTITUTION:VHF and UHF RF signals from an antenna 20 are amplified at an RF amplifier 22 via an RFPIN variable attenuator 21, and then are upconverted to IF frequency of 840-940MHz at a mixing circuit 23 and a local oscillating circuit 24. The IF signal is channel-selected at a surface acoustic wave BPF25 and amplified at an IF amplifier 26 with AGC, then is detected and amplified into the video signal at a video signal amplifier 27 to transmit the video signal 29 including the intercarrier audio signal. The output of an amplifier 27 controls the attenuator 21 and amplifier 26 via an AGC amplifier 28. Thus, the interference by double harmonics caused by the amplifier 22 and the circuit 23 and spurious interference can be excluded and VHF and UHF bands can commonly be processed with common amplifier 22 and circuits 23, 24, allowing to simplify the circuit constitution.
