Abstract
PURPOSE: To offer an apparatus for charging sludge into a digestion vessel, which will avoid the reduction of gas generation just after sludge charge, by preparatively heating condensed sludge to be charged into the digestion vessel.
CONSTITUTION: Condensed sludge extracted from a condensing vessel by a pump 1 is carried to a preheating vessel 9, where the condensed sludge is preparatively heated by a high-temperature fluid passing through a pipe line 10. In the vessel 10, a control valve 13 is controlled by a controller 12 to keep the temperature of the sludge at a predetermined level. The preheated sludge is then carried to a digestion vessel 2 by the pump 1. Owing to the preheating of the sludge, an amount of generated gas just after the charge of the condensed sludge is not reduced, and a large amount of gas can be produced.
