Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition capable of preventing the occurrence of water tree phenomenon and prolonging the life of electric cable, obtained by blending a polyolefin resin with a specific amount of a specified organic isocyanate compound as well as electrically-conductive carbon black.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyolefin resin (e.g., ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) as a base polymer is blended uniformly with (B) electrically conductive carbon black (e.g., preferably acetylene black, etc., having electrical conductivity 10-2W105ohm cm at 1atm. at 20°C), and (C) at least 0.05pts.wt. (preferably 0.05W10.0pts.wt.) component A organic isocyanate compound (e.g., 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, etc.) having one or more isocyanate groups in one molecule, to give the desired composition.
