Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a water-sealed OW wire which has good adhesion to element wires and an insulator as well as excellent water-sealability by using, as a water-sealing material, a composition made by mixing the copolymer consisting of polyvinyl chloride and vinyl acetate with low melting-point polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:A composition made by mixing the copolymer consisting of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and vinyl acetate (VA) with low melting-point polyester resin is used as a water-sealing material 2. The compound ratio of VA in the copolymer is desirable to be 1.1 to 30pts.wt. to 100pts.wt. of PVC. Because the water-sealing material 2 which has extremely high adhesion to element conductors 3 is filled among the element wires, the water-sealability becomes high and any accidental abnormal wire-cutoff can be prevented. In addition, because the plasticizer in a PVC insulator 4 does not transfer to the water- sealing material 2, the characteristics of the insulator is prevented from lowering. Furthermore, because the water-sealing material 2 is mainly composed of the same PVC as the insulator 4, the electric characteristics such as dielectric strength can become excellent.
