Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A solution containing β-amylase originating from a plant, e.g. a remaining solution or a supernatant liquid after extraction of main proteins from defatted soybean, is brought into contact with synthetic aluminum silicate by the contact or flow filtration method, to adsorb the β-amylase in the raw material solution to the synthetic aluminum silicate. The synthetic aluminum silicate which adsorbed the β-amylase is then treated with a phosphate buffer solution or its mixture with common salt to elute the β-amylase.
