Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance analytical sensitivity and shorten the time required for analysis by holding and fixing a water-soluble dehydrogenase-coenzyme covalent bonding body having high activity on a current collecting body by means of a semipermeable membrane. CONSTITUTION:An electrode holder to be built in with an enzyme electrode consists of a supporting body 1 consisting of an insulating material 1, a metal lead 2, a platinum plate 3 connected to the lead 2, a disc-shaped graphite current collecting body 4 and a screw-type fitting 5. The water-soluble covalent bonding body of dehydrogenase and its coenzyme is held and fixed on the surface of the current collecting body 4 by a semipermeable membrane which prohibits the transmission of this bond body and permits the transmission of the substrate of the dehydrogenase, whereby the enzyme electrode is constituted.
