Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably produce good-quality one-side-plated products by a method wherein a molten metal raising device is installed at the outlet of an annealing furnace to cause molten metal to come in contact with the one side of a steel strip, and gas seal is made to enclose the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 1 passes through an annealing furnace 2 and the first sealing device 12 at the outlet of the furnace. The steel strip 1 receives one-side plating by contacting with partially raised molten metal by means of a liquid raising device 18 installed under the steel strip 1 at the tip end of the snout 4. At this time, inert gas is blown from a gas-seal device 16 installed at the nonplated side of the steel strip 1 to protect the steel strip 1 from atmospheric oxidation and to prevent molten metal from coming up the nonplated side. The one-side plated steel strip 1 is controlled in plating quantity by a gas-wiping nozzle 9.
