Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the incident energy on a laser seeker constant by varying the irradiation laser energy according to the estimated distance between a target and a flying body by detecting the distance to the target by using a laser. CONSTITUTION:The laser pulse outputted from a pulse laser generator 12 in a laser apparatus 1 is reflected from a target 2 and received, so that the target distance is detected by a counting circuit 14. According to the detected value, the generator 12 is controlled through a function generating circuit 16, so that the amount of the transmission laser pulse energy varies with the estimated distance between a flying body 3 and the target 2 based on the target detection distance. Thereby, the laser energy applied to a seeker 31 on the flying body 3 which controls flying by receiving the laser pulse reflected from the target 2 is made constant at all times. Accordingly, the seeker to be consumed can have a simple constitution of narrow dynamic range.
