Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of an alcohol sensor which detects the alcohol concentration of an alcohol mixed fuel, by placing an electrostatic capacity detecting plate in the center of the passage for the mixed fuel. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic capacity detecting plate 3 of the alcohol sensor is supported by insulative supporting means 4 so as to be located in the approximate center in the passage for an alcohol mixed fuel, e.g., in the pipe 1A connecting the fuel tank of an automobile and its carburetor. Thereby, the alcohol mixed fuel can contact with over the whole periphery of the electrostatic capacity detecting plate 3, so that the electrostatic capacity of the mixed fuel can be detected with high detecting accuracy, and from the detected value the alcohol mixing ration in the mixed fuel can be calculated.
