Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a tuner circuit, by connecting the carrier input of an unbalanced circuit to one of the base of two transistors that have a differential action with reception of the carrier signal and connecting the external impedance to the other base. CONSTITUTION:The mixing circuit 30 connects the differential amplifying transistors TR14 and 15 receiving the carrier signal in series to the transistors TR17-20 in the double-balanced differential amplifying circuit that receives the balanced local oscillation signal, and then transmits the intermediate frequency output obtained by mixing the local oscillation signal and the carrier signal from the collectors of TRs 17-20. The output of the unbalanced tuning circuit 1 is connected to the base of the TR14 via the capacitor 25, and the external impedance Z26 is connected between the base of TR15 and the earth. The gain of the circuit 30 is adversely proportional to the value of Z26. The Z26 functions as an equivalent bias power source to the TR15, and the value of the power source is selected to such a range in which the attenuation quantity of tuner gain can store the noise factor within a range of allowance.
