Abstract
PURPOSE: To automatically and continuously measure the radioactive contamination density distribution at a distant position from the object to be measured by combining a collimator and a radiation detector so as to be able to scan.
CONSTITUTION: Behind a collimator consisting of a plate body of lead, tungsten and the like with a small rediation transmission factor and through which a radiation transmitting hole 2 having an open angle of a fixed angle to an object to be measured 4, a radiation detector 3 provided with an automatic range-finder 11 being scanning-driven and which draws an approx. sphere centering around the radiation transmitting hole 2 is arranged. And the radiation detector 3 is made to move scribing circular arcs centering around the radiation transmitting hole 2 in a plane including a center axis of the collimator 1 and as well as is made to turn around the center axis of the collimator 1 keeping the radiation incidence surface always in a state orthogonally crossing the radiation from the collimator 1. When the output of the radiation detector 3 is inputted in to the indicating device 7, recording device 8 through the processing device 6, the desired purpose can be attained.
