Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thin battery with high efficiency by making a given catalyst- holding layer to be impregnated with a catalyst-metal salt solution which contains a fluorine-resin dispersion, before the impregnated layer is dried and reduced into the catalyst metal in a reducing solution. CONSTITUTION:A carbon-fiber material paper is made water repellent in a fluorine- resin dispersion, a diffusion layer 1 being prepared. A carbon-powder material containing a binding agent is applied to the surface of the diffusion layer 1, a catalyst- holding layer being formed. Following that, the former catalyst-holding layer is impregnated with a catalyst-metal salt solution added with a fluorine-resin dispersion. Next, the catalyst-metal salt is reduced into the catalyst metal in a reducing solution, thus a catalyst layer 2 being obtained.
