Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the catalyst-holding characteristic of a titled electrode from a pulverous material by making a powder having either a large specific-gravity or a large particle size hold a catalyst, in a water-soluble sol made of agar or starch which has a large viscosity. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst is made to be held by either a large-specific-gravity substance such as tantalum or tungsten carbide or a large-grain-diameter substance such as carbon powder, which has difficulties in holding the catalyst, in a water- soluble sol made of starch or agar which has a high viscosity. Following that, the powder holding the catalyst is mixed with a binding agent, and the mixture is applied to an electrode-supporting body 2.
