Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility, wear resistance and heat resistance of magnetic powder, by forming a magnetic layer by using a binder which contains a specific ternary copolymer, either polyester type or epoxy plasticizer and trifunctional low-molecular weight isocyanate. CONSTITUTION:A ternary copolymer of 200-600 polymerization degree consisting of 70-80wt% vinyl chloride, 1-25wt% vinyl propionate and 5-20wt% vinyl alcohol, and one kind of a polyester plasticizer (of 600-8,000 molecular weight with alkyl group at both terminals which is obtained from an adipic acid, phthalic acid, etc., and glycol) or epoxy plasticizer (having epoxy group in a molecule) such as epoxidized soybean oil by 5-50wt% to the said copolymer, and further, trifunctional low-molecular-weight isocyanate by 3-50wt% to the whole binder are mixed into the binder, which is used to form a magnetic layer.
