PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance and heat resistance as well as the dispersibility of magnetic powder by providing a magnetic layer which contains a specific quaternary copolymer, urethane prepolymer and trifunctional low-molecular weight isocyanate. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer of 200-600 polymerization degree consisting of 70- 80wt% vinyl chloride, 1-5wt% vinyl acetate, 2-10wt% acrylic ester, and 10- 20wt% vinyl alcohol improves the dispersibility of magnetic powder while preventing vinyl chloride from deteriorating, and also prevents gelling during the formation of magnetic coating to improve the weather resistance of a magnetic layer. Then, the magnetic layer is formed by a 5-50wt% straight-chain urethane polymer of about 2,000-10,000 mean molecular weight having free isocyanate group at both terminals, and a composition obtained by adding 2pts.wt. trifunctional low-molecular-weight triol to a total 100pts.wt. compound of a copolymer and said urethane resin. Thus, the dispersibility, durability, etc., of magnetic powder are further improved.
