Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent pressure drop increase and clogging and improve contact efficiency by allowing a gas to contact with the adsorption layers disposed with a multiplicity of tubular bodies having through-holes of 4W30mm equivalent diameters or platelike bodies of 5W50mm intervals, at 2W20m/sec.
CONSTITUTION: The adsorptive materials consisting of tubular structures having through-holes of 4W30mm equivalent diameters or the adsorptive materials consisting of platelike structures of 5W50mm intervals are disposed into a multiplicity in a manner that the adsorption surfaces thereof parallel to the flow of gases, whereby the adsorption layers are formed. Exhaust gases contg. sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, oxygen and dusts are contacted with these adsorption layers at 2W20m/sec flow velocities. For example, tubular adsorbents 2 of a hexagonal shape of 4mm length of one side are packed in multiple stages to form a tubular adsorption layer 1, and an exhaust gas is introduced therein from its one end. After it is adsorbed of sulfur oxides etc., it is exhausted as a purified gas 4 to the outside of the system.
