Abstract
PURPOSE: To take out concd. oxygen continuously and easily by using ≥3 adsorption towers and controlling the pressure and flow rate of air fed to the towers and those of waste gas during the regeneration of an adsorbent by desorption to specified values when nitrogen in air is adsorbed to take out oxygen enriched gas.
CONSTITUTION: Air is alternately fed to 3 adsorption towers 10, 11, 12 packed with synthetic zeolite or the like as a nitrogen adsorbent under 1.2W2.0kg/cm2.G pressure at ≤1.5m/sec flow rate to allow nitrogen to be adsorbed on the zeolite, and oxygen enriched air is taken out of a pipe 18 and stored in a tank 22. When the zeolite is satd. with adsorbed nitrogen and deprived of the adsorbing power, by feeding air under 0.25W0.45kg/cm2.G pressure at 0.2W1.0m/sec flow rate, the adsorbed nitrogen is desorbed to regenerate the zeolite, and the used air is exhausted from a waste gas pipe 36. By alternately carrying out the adsorbing and desorbing operations in the 3 adsorption towers, oxygen enriched gas can be produced continuously.
