Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the increase in pressure drop and the clogging of adsorbing beds and make the solid-gas contact adsorption beds compact by disposing adsorbing materials with their adsorption surfaces in parallel with the flow of gases and specifying the velocity of flow of the gases in a simultaneous desulfurization and denitrization process for waste gases.
CONSTITUTION: In a process for dry type simultaneous desulfurization and denitration of waste gases, adsorbing materials are formed of materials consisting tubular structural bodies having through-holes of 4W30mm equiv. diameters and exhibiting catalytic effect or materials consisting of plate-like structural bodies of 5W50mm intervals and exhibiting catalytic effect. These adsorbing materials are disposed in such a way that their adsorbing surfaces are paralleled to the flow of gases. For example, tubular adsorbents 2 are packed in multiple stages in a tubular type adsorption bed 1. Waste gases 3 are brought in contact with this bed 1 at 2W20m/sec velocities of flow, whereby sulfur oxide is adsorbed in the bed 1 and nitrogen oxide is reduced to nitrogen and water and is thereby thereby made pollution-free. By this method, the high desulfurization and denitration performance are obtained with the comptact reaction device of low pressure drop.
