Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the number of control signal frequencies required for the system, by causing each optical repeater to operate the photoswitch by the higher harmonic of the control frequency to constitute an optical folding circuit. CONSTITUTION:Control frequencies (f1-fn) of repeaters generate higher harmonic components respectively. If frequency f1 is set to 500kHz, secondary higher harmonic frequency 28 is 1MHz. The fractional band on the array of frequencies 28- 31 is 1.7X10<-3> which is equal to that of control frequencies 23-26 assigned to respective repeaters. The operating band of the crystal filter is approximately 1MHz or more, and approximately 10<-3> is expected as the fractioal band in this filter. Consequently, secondary higher harmonics 28-31 of control frequencies can be received selectively by the crystal filter by substituting the filter with the crystal filter. Consequently, assignment of the required number of control frequencies is secured stably and surely for a long time.
