Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the SO2 reducing rate and the purity of captured sulfur at a low reducing temp. by using semicoke, as a reducing agent, obtd. by dry distilling coal in a specified temp. range when SO2 in exhasut gas is reduced.
CONSTITUTION: When SO2 in combustion exhasut gas is removed, semicoke obtd. by dry distilling coat at 550W750°C is used as a reducing agent to convert the SO2 into S. By this method a high reducing rate can be attained at a reducing temp. lower that that of a conventional method without lowering the purity of captured sulfur.
