Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance transfer efficiency and to prevent image deformation, by irradiating a visible image on a photoreceptor corresponding to the visible image transferred on a sheet from the contact position with the photoreceptor to the end by a lamp. CONSTITUTION:Lamp 12b is arranged in the lower part of light guide frame 12a with a uniform width slit along the axis direction of photoreceptor 1 and irradiates the surface of receptor 1 in auxiliary transfer apparatus 12 formed just before transfer unit 3. Lamp 12b is turned on when the front end of a visible image on receptor 1 reaches just before unit 12, and turned off when front end 7a is sucked onto sheet conveying belt 6b. Lamp 12b irradiation permits receptor surface voltage of the visible image front end in the transfer and sheet stripping position to become almost zero, therefore, toner image transfer efficiency to rise, image deformation caused by use of an electrostatic stripping unit to be prevented.
