Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize starting loss and to reduce time required for starting a steam turbine, by utilizing heat energy possessed by drainage exhaust gas for heating feed water.
CONSTITUTION: In starting a steam turbine at a normal temperature, a small amount of steam is passed from boiler to main steam piping 4, steam converting valve 35, piping 6 and reheating steam pipe 7, and then discharged from drainage exhaust pipes 19a, 19b, 19c. Steam is supplied to high-pressure turbine 1 and medium-pressure turbine 2 respectively from inlet valve 5 and 8 and discharged from drainage exhaust pipes. The drainage exhaust gas is carried via liquid separator 22 and temperature lowering means 30 to feed water heaters 11, 12, where feed water is heated and condensed. As the system is warmed up, opening of inlet valves 5, 8 is increased gradually and the system is set into normal operation.
