Abstract
PURPOSE: The captioned device which is so constituted as to flow welding current by flowing detecting current between the welding rod and welding works, detecting the welding start and letting the light shield device respond thereto then flowing welding current.
CONSTITUTION: The operator lets a welding rod 1 contact the welding works 2, then slight detecting current flows to the circuit from the positive terminal of a rectifier circuit 18 to the negative terminal of the circuit 18 through a resistance 22, rod 1, welding works 2, etc. As a result of this, base current is flowed to a transistor 3 which in turn energizes a relay 4 and turn ON its normally open contacts 4a. This energizes a rotary solenoid F to flow base current to a transistor 6 and turn this ON. On the other hand, the energizing of the solenoid F causes a colored glass B to be driven to close a window C. A microswitch H is then depressed by an arm I to turn ON its normally open contacts 8a, by which relays 9 and 10 are energized. Namely, as the relay 9 is energized, its normally open contacts 9a go ON and therefore a welding transformer 15 is connected to a power source 16 and its secondary current is flowed from the rod 1 to the welding works 2, during which time arc is generated and the welding work is thereby started.
