Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a multi-wavelength photometer, by employing a structure including a plurality of wavelength selectors adapted to select different wavelengths and cyclically entering into a light passage to obtain monochromatic light having different main wavelengths, and then measure variations to occur with the lapse of time in the light absorption coefficient of multi-wavelengths, whereby a zero-aligning operation can be omitted. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of wavelength selectors 2 provided on a rotary plate 4 is put in a light passage L1 cyclically as the plate 4 is turned, to obtain monochromatic light having different main wavelengths. The monochromatic light thus obtained is passed through a flow cell 5, in which a sample liquid flows, to enter a first light receiving element 6, from which a signal S1 representative of a measurement value is output. A sample holder comparator 8 is adapted to temporarily memorize the signal S1 when it receives a synchronizing signal S2, and to output a signal S3 representative of difference between the signals S1, S2. A light absorption coefficient converter 12 is adapted to receive simultaneously in parallel a signal S4 representative of amplification difference and a signal S6 representative of an amplification reference value, operate fluctuations of light absorption coefficient in proportion to variations with the lapse of time in the sample solution, and output a signal S7 representative of the fluctuations mentioned above of light absorption coefficient, which is recorded in a recorder 13. This permits omitting a zero-aligning operation and simplifying the construction of a multi-wavelength photometer.
