Abstract

PURPOSE: An inorganic dispersant and inorganic pigments are firmly bound on the surface of polymer particles with ionic linkages, whereby fine spherical polymer particles with uniform particle size distribution is obtained.
CONSTITUTION: A polymerizable monomer as styrene or vinyl chloride is anionically or cationically charged by adding 0.1W5 wt% of a cationically polymerizable monomer, an organic amine hard soluble in water, or an anionically polymerizable monomer. The resulting monomer (A) is incorporated with (B) 0.1W2 wt% of an inorganic dispersant bearing the charge opposite to (A) and 0.1W70 wt% of (C) inorganic pigments with particle sizes of less 1 micron as ferrite or magnesia and the suspension polymerization is effected in an aqueous medium in the presence of an oil-soluble polymerization initiator under stirring, thus making the inorganic dispersant and inorganic pigments binding firmly with the periphery of the polymer particles by ionic linkages.
