CONSTITUTION:An AC signal from AC signal source 1 is converted into a DC signal by detection circuit 2. The DC signal from detection circuit 2 is converted into a digital signal by A/D converter 3 and digital log converter circuit 4 stores a numeral, obtained by logarithmically converting an analog signal previously, at an address of a memory circuit corresponding to the digital signal. This stored numeral is outputted to output terminal 5. As a result, high-precision conversion is carried into effect. Further, a logarithmic conversion error due to calculation can infinitely be reduced by increasing the number of output bits of the memory circuit of digital log converter circuit 4.
