Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep the overall shape at good condition, by operating the difference between the actual rolling speed and the desired set value of rolling speed, and by controlling the distribution of flow rates of the roll-coolant injection nozzles. CONSTITUTION:The output of the regulator RE1 of the automatic sheet gauge control system is corresponding to the difference DELTAV between the desired rolling speed VS and the actual rolling speed VM; depending on this difference signal DELTAV, the flow rate of the flow control valve VL is controlled. That is, if the average sheet gauge in the rolling direction decreases, DELTAV becomes negative, and the rolling speed is decreased by DELTAV, so that the flow rate of coolant is increased by the amount corresponding to the decrement of the rolling speed in order to decrease the crown of the middle part of the roll, and also to restore the decrement of the rolling speed. This shape change is detected by the shape detector SH, which at once decreases the push-up force; and with this decrease, the sheet shape is restored to the good condition, and the averate sheet gauge is restored to the desired value.
