Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the temp. of strip under rolling automatically to the target value in the stage of cold rolling of the strip by controlling the flow rate of a strip coolant with a preset function and a dynamic controlling function. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of cold rolling of a strip, the flow rate pattern of a strip coolant for rolling speeds are set in a preset function. When the temp. of the strip deviates from the range of the target temp. pattern in the rolling work, the increasing or decreasing portions of the coolant flow rates between the respective rolling stands are calculated by the temp. deviation thereof and are outoutted as opening assignment signals for motor driving valves 21-25 from the preset function. Also, the temp. of the strip on the outlet side of the final stand is detected with a thermometer 4, and the output thereof is compared with the preset target temp. memory 5 of a dynamic controlling function. The differential signal thereof is inputted to a function generator 6, and the correction quantities of the coolant flow rates in the respective stands are calculated, whereby the opening degree command signals of the motor driving valves are controlled adequately.
