PURPOSE: To obtain a rotational speed detector of excellent precision and accuracy by using two kinds of generators, that is, a frequency generator having a small number of pulses generated at one revolution, and a frequency generator having a large number of pulses generated at one revolution.

When the rotational outputs of the first FG1 and second FG2 are passed through first and second frequency discrimination circuit 3 and 4 converting the rotational outputs into DC signals, and supplied to a low-pass filter of a cut-off frequency fc1 and a high-pass filter 6 for a cut-off frequency fc2, and added in an addition circuit 7, the accuracy of the rotation detection can be detected by the first FG1 and the precision of the rotation detection can be detected by the second FG2.
