Abstract

PURPOSE:To hold the output state of IC constant by applying a constant clear level to the clear input terminal of IC when a power voltage is below a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:As a power voltage increases gradually, transistor 9 conducts. As this point in time, Zener diode 7 and transistor 8 are both OFF. Consequently, a current flows through a light emitting diode in photocoupler 10 and a photo transistor in photocoupler 10 is turned ON. Emitter-collector voltage VCE with the photo transistor ON is applied to clear input termianl 4 of IC1. As a result, IC1 is forcibly reset and its output state is changed into a reset state. When the voltage increases high enough for IC1 to operate normally, the forcible resetting of IC1 is released and supplying a clock pulse to clock input terminal 3 starts normal operation. When the power voltage lowers, the circuit operation is reversed.
