Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a Spinodal decomposition type permanent magnet alloy with good cutting property by adding a specific amount of S and Mn to Fe-Cr-Co based permanent magnet alloy and further adding one or more of Si, Mo, Ti, V, W, Ta and Zr.
CONSTITUTION: S: 0.05W0.30% and Mn: 0.05W0.80% are added to a Fe-Cr-Co based permanent magnet alloy consisting of Cr: 15W40%, Co: 3W30%, and the remaining Fe, and then combined. A permanent magnet alloy having the above composition has an excellent cutting property without losing its good magnetic properties. Thus, it is easy for the material to manufacture a complicated shaped permanent magnet thru machining work.
