Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the operation of an electromagnet, by overlapping the core of the electromagnet with the ends of stationary magnetic poles in the direction of an axis of rotation.
CONSTITUTION: A direct current is caused to flow through an electromagnet 9 so that the side of a core 10 near a rotary N-pole 3 is magnetized at the same pole. At that time, the core 10 and the pole 3 repulse each other, the pole 3 is revolved to a stationary N-pole 4 and another rotary N-pole 3 approaches the core 10. However, the latter rotary pole stops because of the shortage of magnetism from a stationary S-pole 7 due to a gap 8 before the rotary N-pole reaches the end of the S-pole 7. When a current is caused to flow to attract the pole 3 toward the electromagnet 9, the pole is easily attracted thereto because the latter rotary N-pole 3 is located near the core 10 overlapped with the stationary S-pole 7. When the direction of the current is instantaneously reversed, the pole 3 is repulsed and the said operation is repeated. As a result, the electromagnet 9 can be easily attracted and repulsed when two kinds of stationary magnetic poles such as the stationary N-pole 4 and the stationary S-pole 7 are provided to increases the torque.
