Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the measuring accuracy of watt-hour meter with temperature compensation over a wide variety of temperatures, by adjusting the temperature dependancy of Hall element with the voltage-frequency converter connected to the Hall element.
CONSTITUTION: The electric power is converted into a voltage with the power conversion section 31 provided with the Hall element in the power-voltage conversion section 30 and amplified. The voltage amplified is converted into a frequency with the voltage-frequency conversion section 33 and displayed on the display section 34. On the other hand, as the Hall element mentioned above, GaAs Hall element (temperature coefficient is -0.05%/°C) is used and the metal film resistor, 5kΩ is used for the resistor R2(42) and the resistor, 1kΩ, having positive temperature characteristics, e.g., +0.3%/°C, is used for the resistor R1(41). Then, the temperature coefficient in the reference voltage Vr is about -0.05%/°C, and the temperature change in the Hall voltage VH of Hall element and the reference voltage Vr can be made equal with the control of the reference voltage Vr. Thus, the change in the output voltage with the temperature change in the Hall element can be compensated.
