Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically obtain the residual capacity of a storage battery accurately by calculating the residual capacity of the battery in response to the discharge current varying at time using a computer.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge current flowing from a storage battery 1 to a load 2 is converted to a voltage through a resistor 3, and through a discharge current standing change input unit 4 to a digital signal, which is supplied to an arithmetic unit 5. A memory 6 stores the relationship between the discharge time of the battery 1 and the capacity converting time. The rated discharge conversion capacity of the case that the discharge standing change of the battery is known is designated by a formula I. The residual capacity of the battery at time t4 is indicated by the product of the current I5 and the discharge time T5. The value of the discharge time T5 can be obtained by sequentially assuming the values of the discharge times T5 so that the right side and the left side of the formula (1) becomes in difference low.
