Abstract

PURPOSE: To feed oxygen needful for the cell from ventilation openings by stretching a water repellent air permeable microporous membrane on ventilation openings provided on walls of the cell chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Several ventilation openings 2 are provided on the side faces of a container 1, a membrane 3 and on both sides of the membrane two reinforcing wire nets 4 of 0.4mm mesh of. e.g., stainless steel, are stretched on the ventilation openings 2. A thin tetrafluoroethylene film of thinner than 100μ is used as the membrane 3, and many micropores 5 of smaller than 10μ for permeation of air are provided on the membrane. Thus when the cell container is soaked in sea water and the openings 2 are soaked, the water tight of the container is kept complete, and air can permeate into the cell container through the membrane 3 to feed oxygen to the air cell.
