Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically mold a glass container contg. a bubble in its bottom portion by providing a pin to a metal mold for molding the portion to pit the portion immediately after molding and by blowing air into the pit.
CONSTITUTION: Vertically movable pin 10 is provided to the inside of metal mold 7 for molding the bottom portion of a glass container. After blow-molding parison 5 the tip of pin 10 is protruded from small opening 11 to pit the bottom of the container of hot state immediately after the molding. By feeding pressurized air through a pass the air is blown into the pit to form bubble 14. The bubble may be formed prior to the blow molding. By this method glass containers each contg. a bubble at its bottom portion can be massproduced with an automatically molding machine. Such containers can be produced only by manual molding at present.
