Abstract
PURPOSE: To know the distribution of amount of wear with non-destructive method accurately, by operating the extent of wear of the plain bearing with the log conversion circuit, through the emission of radiant rays on the inside of the plain bearing from the beam source and through the measurement of the intensity of specific X-rays with the radiant ray detector.
CONSTITUTION: The primary emission 13 emitted from the radiant ray emitter 10, and the secondary radiant rays 14 from the plain bearing material 13 is detected with the radiant ray detector 11. Under the package containing the emitter 10 and the detector 11, the contact piece 15 keepintg the distance between the plain bearing material 3 and the package constant is fitted. The hardness of the contact piece 15 is lower than that of the bearing material 13 and it does not scratch the plain bearing.
