Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out the title incineration treatment and recover sodium silicate as a main additive by a method wherein a sludge containing a regenerating additive and a used waste solvent are subjected to the primary high temperature combustion in a high temperature furnace and the obtained residue is baked secondarily to remove carbon within an additive.
CONSTITUTION: In case of regenerating a petroleum type solvent for drycleaning, a sludge containing a regenerating additive comprising calcium silicate and carbon or a used waste solvent which can not be regenerated and reused is combusted in a high temperature furnace primarily to obtain a powdery residue with blackish color. this residue is again subjected to the secondary baking treatment in a high temperature furnace to remove carbon contained in the residue completely and calcium silicate with original white color is recovered. This calcium silicate has a regenerating efficiency almost same to a fresh regenerating additive.
