Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate an easy formation of the integrated circuit with an enhanced accuracy by completing the counting via the coincidence pulse which is generated when a coincidence is obtained between the converted input voltage and the saw- tooth wave synchronized with the sampling pulse.
CONSTITUTION: The A/D converter consists of saw-tooth wave generation circuit 11, voltage comparator 12, counter 13 and clock pulse generation circuit 14. Saw- tooth wave V4 is delivered to circuit 11 in synchronization with sampling pulse V2. At the same time, V2 is applied also to counter 13 which starts counting immediately. Then output V4 of circuit 11 plus output V3 of sampling circuit 10 are supplied to circuit 12, and coincidence pulse V5 is delivered when a coincidence is obtained between V3 and V4. Pulse V5 is then supplied to counter 13 to complete the counting then. In other words, counter 13 finally delivers the digital value according to V5. After this, the output of counter 13 is converted 15 into the serial code, and the code pulse is delivered T3.
